Is India’s Social Justice Paradigm Under Threat?

The COVID-19 pandemic has unveiled the caste inequities and discrimination simmering just under our society. Historically marginalised sections have increasingly become a target of violence and state indifference these past few years. The pandemic has aggravated this. But the media pays no attention and there is hardly any public outrage when Dalit students are driven to suicides, when Dalits & Adivasis have to face atrocities, when the state withholds their scholarships and scales down budgets for their welfare and when they die in sewage pits.
